From Forced Medical Leave to Building an Empire
Owl Hour Creative Studio started as a happy accident during a stressful time. Placed on forced medical leave a month before my little boy was born, I realized I needed a creative outlet and a way to control my own time and situation. Originally, my mom and I looked into physical artisan vendor fairs, but the high booth fees, low guarantees, and massive time investments just weren't cutting it.
I decided to take matters into my own hands and build us a website instead. From Canva to Wix to Shopify, and finally to a hosting platform that gave me total creative control, I discovered something amazing: I am incredibly good at building digital homes. I realized I could do this faster and better than the physical craft fair hustle—especially with a sleeping baby nearby!
After a harsh (but necessary) reality check that my first website was a bit too "chaotic and beautiful," I honed my skills, joined Aflac to learn the ropes of business and sales on the go, and pivoted to creating a platform that serves both artists and entrepreneurs.
The Owl Hour Origin Story
Meet the Maker: Gina of All Trades
Depending on what you need, I wear a few different hats around the studio:
NocteaDea: My artisan and creative name.
The Digital Weaver: For when I am building beautiful, functional digital homes and websites.
The Gina of All Trades: Because I really can do a little bit of everything!
Gina: The businesswoman who gets things done.
My Superpowers
Digital Presence Builder: I build websites, brands, and logos from the ground up. You give me the brain dump, and I give you a gorgeous, SEO-optimized landing page. (Note: I leave the social media management to the pros, but I build the digital house they point to!)
The Artisan Curator: I find incredible artists and vet their work to ensure it is legitimate, high-quality, and handcrafted. No mass-produced junk, no fast fashion, and no product waste.
The Owl Hour Philosophy
Communication is Everything: The speed of your website build matches the speed of our communication. If you text back fast, I can build your site fast.
Your Brand, Your Soul: Your website should look like you, not me. My personal style stays out of it so your unique business identity can shine.
Community Over Competition: I believe in promoting other businesses and letting my work speak for itself.
Meeting People Where They Are: I am deeply passionate about supporting nonprofits and small creators. Not everyone has $1,200 for a massive website upfront, which is why I offer flexible setups, temporary landing pages, or even commission-based builds to help you pull in traffic and donations first.
Trust the Process: I firmly believe in messy first drafts that evolve into absolute chef’s kiss final products.
